Thrasher Comics
1988-1989 Thrasher Magazine published an underground skateboard comic in the tradition of Zap Comics. Lynn Coleman was part of the original staff and the only female member included in the all "bad boy" crew. She was the young mother of two sons at the time and chose to focus on the softer side of the sport rather than glorifying the "Skate and Destroy" manifesto of the late 1980's. The resulting 65 images document teenage angst and social concerns affecting young people that remain topical and current.
